Hello and welcome to Nottingham City’s Carbon Neutral 2028 Action Map.
So far we have 71 contributors sharing over 100 comments about changes you’d like to see in the city.
The top 3 trends that appear across the comments are
- More planting of trees and wildflower meadow spaces
- Improve the cycle network and increase cycle lanes
- Reduce the number of cars on the road and stop engine idling
There has been a 52% reduction in overall city emissions per capita since 2005, the highest for any core city. This has been made possible by citizens choosing more sustainable options in their day-to-day life and lots of hard work on various projects across the city. Contributing projects include;
- Over 23,000 trees have been planted since 2019, with a target of 50,000 by 2023.
- 46% of the Council fleet is now ULEV, the first in the world to use e-RCVs
- Over 250 public EV charging points, with 81 recently installed are new Broadmarsh CP, the most for a single site in the UK so far
- 30% of buses operating in the city are biogas or electric
- Traffic calming and road closure schemes are in place to encourage more walking and cycling
Thank you for your suggestions so far, the site will be open until mid-April so keep them coming!!
